ABOUT CHARLIE NEESE

Meteorologist Charlie Neese grew up in rural Williamson County, Tennessee, where his love for the weather surfaced. At the young age of 9, he saw his first flash flood and from that point on, weather was in his blood.

After graduating from Fairview High School, Charlie went on to graduate from the University of Tennessee at Martin with a Bachelor of Science degree in Broadcast Communications. Next, he earned his certification in Broadcast Meteorology from Mississippi State University.

Charlie started his broadcast career in 1991 at WBBJ-TV in Jackson, TN. There, he not only worked on the weather, but also produced the 10:00 p.m. weeknight newscast. After three years in Jackson, he moved to Tuscaloosa, Alabama, to work for WCFT (CBS), where he reported during the week and did weather on weekends. Next, Charlie made a big jump to market 75 when he went to work for KFVS-TV in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. While working in Cape, Charlie enjoyed volunteering his time in several charitable organizations including the United Way, the Salvation Army, and Habitat for Humanity. In 1997, Charlie was honored to receive the "Outstanding Young Missourian Award" from the Missouri Jaycees.

In 1999, Charlie reached a milestone in his career when he returned to Middle Tennessee to work for the station he grew up watching, NewsChannel 5 in Nashville. Today, Charlie continues to serve as an on-air meteorologist for WTVF, one of the top-rated CBS affiliates in the country.

Charlie is a member of the American Meteorological Society and the National Weather Association and holds a Broadcast Seal of Approval from the NWA.

Along with his work in television weather, Charlie enjoys holding seminars in which he teaches forecasting basics that anyone interested in weather can learn. To learn more about his seminar series, The HOME WEATHER FORECATER, click HERE!
